The Udaiti Foundation is a not-for-profit focused on catalyzing Women’s Economic Empowerment (WEE) in India. Our focus is on improving the availability and accessibility of quality work for women, addressing barriers to women’s work and entrepreneurship, and strengthening enablers that can create impact. We aim for every Indian woman to achieve her full economic potential.
The Women's Formal Employment Tracker serves as India’s most robust and actionable repository of workplace gender equity data. The tracker is updated annually, drawing from SEBI-mandated Business Responsibility and Sustainability Reporting (BRSR) and Annual Report disclosures from over 2000 listed companies and additional public datasets. The Tracker provides unparalleled visibility into how women participate in the formal workforce—across hiring, retention, leadership, providing a comprehensive view across 23 sectors. It is designed as a strategic intelligence tool to support corporate decision-makers, policymakers, and advocacy groups in advancing measurable gender inclusion.
The EPFO Tracker aims to generate valuable gender-specific insights from the monthly payroll data published by EPFO. It enables the analysis of trends in women's participation in the formal sector from FY 2020-21 to FY 2023-24, both overall and by age group, thus providing a clear picture of the evolving landscape of female employment.
